Homework/Notes for the Week of January 8-11, 2019
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful break! Some quick notes for the upcoming weeks and the homework:
There is a field trip to the Miami Zoo Scheduled for Tuesday, January 15th from 8:30-2:30pm. The cost for each student is $20.00. Permission slips are due as soon as possible. We will be taking the A1A transportation Bus for this field trip. OUR CLASS IS IN NEED OF 2 CHAPERONES FOR THIS TRIP. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU CAN HELP!
Students took their mid-year IReady assessments before the break. Those who did not will take them this week or next. Please schedule a time to meet with me to discuss your child’s progress.
2nd Qtr Report cards will go out at the end of this month.
Students have new AR and Reading goals. Please help them achieve these goals by having them read every day and complete at least 2 IReady Reading and Math lessons each week.
READING HOMEWORK
Students are to be reading nightly for at least 15 minutes and recording their reading in their reading logs. Also, students need to bring in their December Book It! Reading calendar signed for a coupon for a free pizza!
Students are to be completing 2 IReady Reading lessons each week. This quarter there is an incentive for those students who complete the most IReady lessons!
MATH HOMEWORK
Complete practice pages P145, P146, for Wednesday and P147, P148 for Thursday when we will go over them in class.
Complete at least 2 IReady lessons. Practice addition and subtraction math facts to 20
Students will have a math assessment on Friday on Chapter 7 “greater than and less than” and mental math adding tens.
SPELLING HOMEWORK
1st GRADE spelling pattern is Long e. The 10 words are: me be read feet tree keep eat mean sea these
2nd GRADE spelling pattern is consonant blends with rls. The 14 words are:

Students must complete and turn in on Friday the following activities related to their words:
Write each word in a complete sentence. Underline the spelling word.
Write a story having at least 5 sentences and using at least 5 words.
Write the words 3 times each AND in ABC order. Example:

VOCABULARY AND HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS
Students should be using their words in conversation with you daily.
